Captured: 2024

A highlight of each month captured in a photo.

Bro Time

First time seeing any family since I left Canada in March 2022. Was fortunate enough to hang out with my middle brother for a couple months.

Coldplay

Never really actually went to concerts before and IΒ  wasn’t actually a huge Coldplay fan until I realized I knew a lot of their songs but just didn’t know it was them.

Huge Coldplay fan now though.

Vietnam Speedrun

Travelled Vietnam for a month. The itinerary was:

Hanoi -> Sa Pa -> Ninh Binh -> Da Nang -> Ho Chi Minh (with stops to different cities / towns in between each place)

Was a pretty intense travel month with many different modes of transportation and adventures / tours.

Got pretty sick at the end of it in Ho Chi Minh, also got to meet up with some friends from Canada there.

Bali Break

After a hectic month travelling around Vietnam, decided to stay put in Bali for a month.

Bali belly still never fails to get me despite spending most of my time the past few years in South East Asia (and this is my second time in Bali).

Winding Down

Winding down a bit in Kuala Lumpur while trying to plan my next destination.

Visas in Indonesia are only 30 days where as in Malaysia I can stay up to 90 days visa free.

I feel like KL is kind of underrated, sure there isn’t much to do and it rains like 80% of the time, but it’s still a great place to stay put for a bit and not have to worry about too much.

The infrastrucutre is pretty modern, it’s cheaper than western countries, and the english proficiency is high.

A More Tame Australian Experience

My second experience in Australia, and I like Adelaide way more than Alice Springs.

The people here are actually more tame than the wildlife and not the other way around.

Relaxing In Adelaide

Was fortunate enough to stay put in Adelaide for 3 months, visa restrictions for Australia force me to leave after 90 days.

The pace is way more chill here, sometimes a bit too chill but breaks are always welcome.

Konnichiwa!

Honestly, I only came to Japan because I was planning on visiting home this year and there are direct reward flights straight to Toronto.

Japanese culture grew on me VERY fast (probably because I also had a good friend living there long term and he showed me the ropes), and I’m not a weeb by any measure but the hype is real.

They take so much pride and care in everything they do and it’s reflected in their every day life and culture, so many things to like about this place.

Day Trips In East Japan

As much as I wanted to stay in Tokyo, I felt like I had to visit parts in the East so I based myself in Osaka and did day trips around.

I only had 3 weeks there and I was still juggling work commitments so I just visited Nara and Kyoto while exploring Osaka in my free time.

Family Reunion

As I was planning my return to Canada, I got word that my Mom and Grandma were going to the Philippines so I decided to surprise them there, and my brother also decided to come (he had just returned to Thailand around this time).

We all spent a month together in the Philippines which was great because I haven’t seen these guys since I left Canada.

(My brother and I had to ‘sneak’ in and out of the airport just to send off my family).

Bro Time Pt. 2

Once the oldies left, me and my bro decided to travel around together for the next few months. We stayed in the Philippines for a month while deciding where we should go next.

Bro Time Pt. 3

We had enough of the Philippines and went to Thailand to hit up a beachy place.

After a bit of back and forth we decided on Koh Samui.

The weather there was pretty bad when we first arrived and a lot of areas around were flooding but overall it got better near the end and we just relaxed there for a month.
