A highlight of each month captured in a photo.
Bro Time Pt.4
Got to hang out with my brother for a while. We initially met up in The Philippines in October 2024 with Mom and Grandma.
Marcus and I travelled together to Koh Samui and then Bangkok. Last time I saw him before this time was February 2024. He flew back to Canada for his new job promotion on January 18th, 2024.
Tomb Raider
Needed to refresh my visa for Thailand so I took a week long trip to Cambodia to visit Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples.
Was an expensive week ($1,000+ CAD) but was absolutely surreal to see and explore all of the ancient ruins of the area and immerse myself in the history.
Thailand Souvenir
Finally renewed my passport abroad, my old one was within 6 months of expiry and figured it might be a problem.
Since I got this issued in Bangkok, the issuing authority on the passport now says BANGKOK.
Ni Hao, Chao
Spent 10 days visiting an old friend in China. The food was amazing and the society is so advanced. I realized the Western propaganda about China is not very accurate and I do plan on going back to China again one day.
The visa process wasn’t as easy as we thought (transit visa), I had to do a 6 hour trip to Korea to refresh my visa and call my friend each time I got to the Chinese border so he could explain my situation to them…
Bali Stop Over
Everytime I fly to Australia, there’s always a long stop over in Bali AND I need to pay for a visa on arrival ($50 CAD). So instead, I just hang out there for a week or so before flying out. Meeting some old friends there!
Hey Goin Mate?
Back in Australia, this time in Darwin – the capital and largest city of the Northern Territory.
Big decked out trucks and lots of outback activity. Was lucky enough to come here during dry season.
Croikey!
Gotta be careful around these parts, there’s either sharks in the water or crocs.
Funny enough, there’s 2 types of crocs. A “Freshwater Croc” and a “Saltwater Croc”.
Just like the bears in North America, there’s the “Black Bear” and “Grizzly Bear”.
“Freshies” are usually timid and keep to themselves, “Salties” will mess you up. Regardless, a croc is a croc and I was lucky to not encounter any in the wild.
Cahills Crossing
This is in Kakadu National Park, if you look up “Cahills Crossing” on YouTube, it’s basically a road beside a saltwater infested river and cars like to drive through.
(I’m pointing at a huge saltwater croc)
Health Stop In KL
I always seem to do my health checkups either in Thailand or Malaysia. This is a photo I took of a printing place that helps with documentation (which ended up getting used as their main Google Maps listing photo).
Found out my cholesterol issue is most likely Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH) so now I’m on statins.
United Kingdom!
Attended a wedding in the UK and met a lot of real English people, went to London -> New Castle -> Glasgow -> Edinburgh -> Scottish Highlands.
This was super fun finally being able to see the UK. I also got complements on my $10 suit that I bought online in Malaysia.
Another Family Reunion
Again was very lucky and blessed to spend 14 days with my family in the Philippines. We went to Cebu, experienced a super typhoon and I even saw my uncle + aunt that I haven’t seen since I left Canada.
Brothers Reunited – In Bangkok!
For the first time in forever, all 3 of the brothers were reunited! I got used to Marcus visiting me annually in Thailand but this time we decided to fly out the youngest, Mike.
We had a great time together, Mike was there for only 2 weeks before going back to Canada.
